Our Services
General Counselling
Life can be difficult! We spend a third of our life at work and a third at home; the remainder is sleeping.
It’s in these waking moments that every interaction we have, whether it be at work, home or in social situations, can evoke different emotions and challenges that make us feel out of sorts – even negative towards ourselves and others.
This can be:
-
Workplace issues
-
Interpersonal difficulties
-
Family or relationship issues
-
Self-esteem issues
Pax Counselling will work with you to find out what drives you, what gets you through the tough times and assist you to view life’s challenges with a new perspective.
Grief and Loss Counselling
Grief and loss never leave us.
It is how we move through the pain of it, take control of it and manage it into the future which is important.
Many people get stuck in the cycle of thinking that grief and loss will simply go away.
You can make the hurt of grief and loss fade over time – we can help you in a compassionate, safe and helpful manner to journey through the grief or loss to a place of peaceful acceptance and management.
Pastoral Counselling
Pax Counselling can provide spiritual support in the form of Pastoral Counselling.
Pastoral counselling is focused not just on psychological or emotional issues, but also on issues of faith and ethics.
People often come with questions of faith and of right vs wrong.
The tools the pastoral counsellor works with are attentiveness, compassion, wisdom and honour of your spiritual or religious tradition.
This is particularly helpful to those who have a religious tradition or a spirituality that is important to them.

Animal Assisted Therapy
Animal-assisted therapy is rooted in the bond that can develop between people and animals. Animals can provide a sense of calm, comfort, or safety and divert attention away from a stressful situation and toward one that provides pleasure.
'Lachie' is a former Guide Dog and works in a variety of settings, including Clinical, Emergency and End of Life situations.
His gentle, calm and peace bringing nature has made him very popular, to pat, cuddle or have him simply 'be' with you in times of stress.
Lachie is available when requested by Clients.
